New Bus Driver Class Begins June 2
The Tuscaloosa County School System has immediate opportunities for bus drivers! Contact the TCSS Transportation Department today for information about joining our New Driver Training Class, which begins June 2, 2026.
TCSS provides all training needed to earn your Class B CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements, and your State of Alabama School Bus Operator’s Certificate. We also provide training for those wanting to be a bus aide.
These positions offer health insurance, retirement benefits, and opportunities to drive more and earn more, when you are available! The positions work well with other work schedules or as a part-time job and align with the TCSS school schedule.

New Driver Training Class
Classes will run from June 2 - June 29, 2026, on the dates listed below:
June 2, 3, 4
June 8, 9, 10, 11
June 16, 17, 18
June 22, 23, 24, 25
June 29: Reserved for any trainees needing additional hours prior to the New Driver State Certification Class. You must make an appointment time for this day.
Class Times: 7:45 - 11:45 am
Location: Northport Bus Shop, 3700 68th Avenue, Northport, Alabama
New Driver State Certification Class
July 6, 7, and 8
Class Times: 9 am - 1 pm each day
Location: Northport Bus Shop, 3700 68th Avenue, Northport, Alabama
Testing with State Examiner
Projected test dates to complete your certification are July 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17. Tests will be conducted individually, by appointment.
