How to Register for Regular School Bus Transportation

Use the form linked below to request transportation on a regular school bus, for students who will be riding the bus on a regular basis.

Important Deadline for Kindergarten Families

For your kindergarten student to ride the bus on the first day of school, you must register them with the TCSS Transportation Department no later than July 31, 2026. If registered after that date, they will not be able to ride until later in August.

More Information for Kindergarten Families

• The first time kindergarten students ride must be the morning route.
• An adult must be at the bus stop to receive a kindergarten student from the bus, every afternoon.

Who Should NOT Complete a New Transportation Request

• Students who rode the bus last year from the same address, and are remaining in the same school feeder pattern, should not register again.
• To ensure safety and accuracy of all routes, it is important that a request not be made if the student will not regularly ride the bus.

Who Should Complete a New Transportation Request

• Students who have moved to a new address.
• Students who changed schools outside of the high school feeder pattern they were in last year.
• Students who have not ridden the bus previously.
• Students who are new to the Tuscaloosa County School System.
• If you submitted a form between May 15 and June 12, 2026, please submit a new form. Forms submitted during this time may not have saved properly. We appreciate your cooperation.

Important Reminders

• Please submit a separate request for each student needing transportation.
• The transportation request should not be completed until the student is fully enrolled in a TCSS school.
• The request form should not be typed in all capital letters.
